CGPS Archive help

The CGPS archive is very simple. The survey of the galactic plane has been segmented in different regions (or mosaics). For each mosaics, a number of observations in multiple wavelengths / frequencies has been regridded to the same pixel scale in order to ease the comparaison.

One could find the observation nd processing status of each mosaic here

There is only a single form to query the CGPS archive using three (3) distincts methods:

  1. By Mosaic designation: If one knows the mosaic name or the L,B coordinate of its target, just select the right mosaic and hit the "search the catalogue" button.
  2. By astronomical source name: Just type in the name of your astronomical object and it will be resolved in coordinates using NED and or Simbad.
  3. By galactic or equatorial coordinates: If you already know the coordinate of your object, just type them in and hit the "search" button. Please be caraful because the space coverage of the CGPS is rather small.

Then one could specify any other mosaic parameters like the observation band
